Aldo Cometti
I was raised in the Alps near the Matterhorn before coming to the US. Skiing, climbing, and nature have always been part of my life.
In just a few years, decades and centuries of snow and ice accumulation have been wiped out.
Mountains are crumbling, ski resorts are shutting down or opening in the middle of spring, and snowpacks that provide water throughout the year are disappearing.
It is time to give back to mountains and snow what they gave to us.

I've always loved the outdoors and nature. I've been hiking since my teens. This is a picture of me with my best friend that I have been hiking with for 30 years.
I am passionate about taking care of the planet since Al Gore ran for President, and unfortunately we have not had someone that impassioned to run for office since. My vote always goes on the side of the environment, and just since Al Gore ran, we have all witnessed the devastation of climate change.
Wildfires keep getting larger and more out of control due to drought and higher temperatures. Glaciers are melting and sea temperatures rising, playing havoc on weather.
It has just been one catastrophe after another. The last two seasons, Big Bear has hardly had snow.
The US has been behind in global efforts and is embarrassing as a nation.
I'm hopeful they will help raise awareness and encourage involvement.
